ANSWER

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI R.P.N. SINGH)

(a) & (b): No Madam. There is no such plan to re-employ a large number of personnel retiring from the Armed Forces as well as Central Para-Military Forces comparatively at younger age by way of forming an Auxiliary/CentralForce to deal with the natural calamities.

However, National Disaster Response force (NDRF) has been created under section 44 of DM Act 2005 for the purpose of specialist response to a threatening disaster situation or disaster. NDRF personnel are taken on deputation from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) for a period of five years and 20% of the available strength is rotated every year after completion of the prescribed 5 years tenure.
