Kolkata, Mar 14 (IBNS): The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday said troops of BOP Tarali has seized two gold bars from West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district and apprehended one person.
"On specific input regarding smuggling of gold consignment , troops of BOP Tarali 152 Bn BSF, under police station Swarupnagar planned an operation on 14th March 2014 at about 0615 hrs , and apprehended 01 Indian," the BSF said in a statement.
"During searching recovered 02 gold bars from his possession. Seized gold bars and apprehended person handed over to customs Tentulberia for further disposal as per law of land," it said.
The BSF has seized gold worth Rs. 7 crores and apprehended 10 smugglers during 2014 from the area of responsibility of Kolkata sector being commanded by I D Sharma, DIG , BSF.
