CRPF officer dies due to alleged delay in medical help

Aurangabad: The CRPF Deputy Commandant who was hurt in an IED blast on Monday has succumbed to his injuries. In case of shocking neglect, the officer died after an alleged delay in medical help. He allegedly received no medical attention for over two hours.

The incident took place around 11 am on Monday but he could not get any medical help till 5 pm. To add to the apathy towards the officer, there was no ambulance at the spot and he was taken to the hospital in a local private bus. Even at the hospital, there was no senior officer present and he was only treated by junior doctors who did not have adequate medical facilities.

In a fervent appeal to the PM and the President of the Country, injured officer Inderjeet said on Monday, "I am lying here from last two hours. There are no doctors here. Please save me or otherwise I will die. I have small kids. I am appealing to the PM, President of India to please save me. I am appealing to my DGP please help me out and save my life."

Refusing to react on the issue, DG CRPF, Dilip Trivedi said that the IG has been sent to the spot and will only react after he gets a report.

"Support couldn't reach in time to our DC Inderjeet and that is a matter of inquiry. We have ordered IG level investigation. We can't say anything before that," Trivedi said.

The officer was on duty as part of the preparations being made for the elections in the state on April 10.

The Gaya district administration is responsible for the medical attention to the officers in the area.

The total death toll from the IED blast has risen to three. Two other police officers were killed at Dhibra police station in Aurangabad two days ago. The blast took place when they were trying to defuse an IED that they had recovered.

  1. Tell me who will want to join CAPF when even they are not able to provide basic medical facilities to their soldiers, and even officers of such rank are denied medical aid, highly demoralizing.
