Assam Rifles have caught four tribal guerrillas and
recovered a large cache of weapons in Assam, official said Thursday.
The Bru National Army (BNA) militants were held at Kulichara
forest in Cachar district Monday, an Assam Rifles official told reporters.
The four include BNA chief Oranjoy alias Lal Thazuala,
general secretary Rajesh Chorkhi, Luarjoy Reang and Bailoram Reang. They are
residents of Mizoram and Assam.
A large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered at
the site. They included four AK-47 rifles, 122 rounds of bullets, two 12-bore
double barrel guns, a 9 mm pistol, four mobile phones and other materials.
All four were handed over to Assam Police.
The official said that with the arrest of the four, the
outlawed outfit had been effectively neutralized.
