JAMMU, June 2: Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust and
CRPF Wives Welfare Association, jointly organised painting competition at
Bantalab, Group Centre here today.
Director Floriculture, K K Sharma was the chief guest,
senior artists N D Jamwal guest of honour while Rozy Dhar, wife of IG CRPF
Kuldeep Dhar, the regional president of CRPF Wives Welfare Association
(Sanrakshi), presided over the function.
The function commenced with the lighting of traditional lamp
by the chief guest Mr Sharma, Mr Jamwal, Mrs Dhar and IG CRPF besides
chairperson of Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust, Anuradha Rishi. Several noted
artists and parents of the participating children, members of ‘Sanrakshi’
attended the programme. CRPF DIGs, D S Bains and S S Dogra were also present
besides other senior officers. Jang S Burman, Subash Anand and Priyanka were
the jury members. Senior artists Gokul Dembi performed live art on the
occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Commanding Officer Manoj
Sharma welcomed the chief guest and other guests invited on the occasion. He
also spoke on the contributions of Late Master Sansar Chand ji Baru in the
field of art and culture of the State. He told that Masterji’s daughter
Anuradha Rishi has now resolved to carry forward the mission of her great
farther.
N D Jamwal described in detail about his association with
the Master ji and his life and contributions in the field of art. He also
referred to the forms of art and its importance in the society and the coming
generations. He said real tributes to Master ji would be to carry forward his

The chief guest K K Sharma lauded the efforts of CRPF and
Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust for organising this programme for
exploring hidden talent of the children. IG CRPF Mr Dhar presented the
concluding remarks and extended gratitude to the chief guest and other invitees.
Mrs Anuradha also highlighted the mission of this Trust, holding its maiden
programme here today. She sought support of all the artists and art lovers.
About 78 children from KV Bantalab and Gandhi Nagar, Viraj
School for street children Nagrota and CRPF camp participated in the painting
contest on the theme- ‘Save Environment Save Earth’. In senior category, Gaurav
was adjudged Ist, Namrata Sahu second while Vaishali third. In junior group,
Saimera stood first, Yashtika second while Priyanshi- third. The prizes were distributed among the
winners by the chief guest, Rozy Dhar, Anuradha, Ruchi Rautela and N D Jamwal.
The certificates of participation were also distributed among them. D S Bisht,
secretary, RCWA presented vote of thanks.
